Who we are
Scholaris Learning Compass is provided by Vidyasagar Goolla, trading as Scholaris Learning Compass. We are the data controller for account, website and enquiry data. For student and school records added by a school, the school decides how that data is used and we process it on the school's behalf.
What we collect and why
- Account details (name, email, mobile number, password, role, school): to create your account and provide the Service — contract.
- Profile and school records (date of birth, address, parent details, ID numbers, photos, marks, attendance, fees, assignments and uploaded work): to run the school features you use — contract and the school's legitimate interests.
- AI tutor and AI tool messages: to answer questions and draft content — contract.
- Enquiries and support messages: to reply to you — legitimate interests.
- Usage and device data (IP address, browser, pages visited): to keep the Service secure, prevent fraud and improve it — legitimate interests.
- Marketing emails, if any: only with your consent, which you can withdraw anytime.
Who we share it with
- Service providers who host and run the Service, including hosting, database, email and AI processing providers.
- Paddle, our Merchant of Record, for selling plans, subscription management, payments, tax and invoicing.
- Professional advisers, such as legal and accounting.
- Authorities, where the law requires it.
We never sell personal data. Data may be processed outside your country by our providers, with appropriate safeguards.
How long we keep it
We keep data while the school's account is active and as long as needed for the purposes above or by law. After that it is deleted or anonymised.
Your rights
Subject to applicable law, including India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and, where it applies, the GDPR, you can ask to access, correct, delete or export your data, object to or restrict processing, withdraw consent, and complain to your data protection authority. Students and parents can also contact their school. We respond within one month.
Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encryption in transit, private file storage, school-by-school data separation and role-based access controls.
Cookies
We use only essential cookies and browser storage needed to keep you signed in and the Service working. We do not use advertising cookies. You can clear them in your browser settings, but you will be signed out.
